I can't believe this year is about to end! It feels like yesterday it was February and I was snowed in, dreaming of what was to come in 2018 and here we are at the end of December! This year I photographed so many amazing people and events which led to awesome new experiences! I started the year off photographing the Black Tie Gala for the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce and moved on to 4 amazing weddings! Each one was truly unique. The ceremonies ranged from being in a quaint chapel, on a mountain top, on the shore of my favorite lake, to a spooky halloween ceremony. I had both an engagement session and a couples sessions with people near and dear to my heart in my favorite place in the world. I got to do a milestone maternity session for my cousin and celebrate the first great grandchild on that side of the family! And I got to wrap up the year with my first Christmas mini sessions (which were a HUGE success)! And of course I had plenty of family & lifestyle shoots sprinkled in between! Looking back on it all, I can't believe how much I've done this year. Thank you to everyone who made this possible! Check out a snippet of my 2018 below!

Caitlin contacted me with a great plan in mind! She wanted to do a sibling session and give the photos to her mom as a Christmas gift. She explained that she and her siblings are rarely together anymore as they have spread out across the country. Caitlin took advantage of everyone being in town for a wedding and had me meet them at Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill for the shoot. Prior to this session, I didn't even know Haverhill had a castle! The location was suggested to Caitlin by a friend and we both did some research on it and agreed it would be a great location! When we got there, the castle was decked out for Christmas, which looked great, but Caitlin brought up the great point that she didn't think her mom would want 'Christmas Photos' hanging up year round. Luckily with a little exploration we discovered the back side of the castle was not decorated and it also provided us a little privacy to do our thing! We got some great shots! I recently heard from Caitlin that the photos were a HUGE hit at Christmas! Check them out below!
Remember how Tim & Kelly met on an airplane and now they're married? Well my friend Nicole and I met in a bathroom on one of the first days of college during our freshman year. We were both commuters and didn't really have a friend group like everyone else who lived on campus. Nicole took a shot in the dark and started up a conversation while we washed our hands. Turns out we were both heading to the same class so went together and we've been friends ever since. Fast forward about 6 years and she asked me to do a birthday photoshoot for her 25th! Nicole has been through some changes this year by leaving her job to go back to school to get her Master's in Mental Health Counseling as well as being newly single for most of 2018 and spending the last few months finding herself. She wanted to do this shoot as a celebration for how far she has come since turning 24. I hope 25 is good to you Nicole!
When Nicole first asked me about this shoot I was little worried about finding a location since I work almost exclusively outdoors. I did a shoot like this for my sister's 26th but that was in May and the beach was a shoe in for her location since she had a light and airy theme... what would be a good backdrop for the bad a** look Nicole was going for? What would she wear to stay warm but also not be bundled up in a jacket seeing as it's the middle of December? But Nicole had the answers to all of my questions! She suggested we do a set up like one I had done for a photo-booth a few years ago. The only problem with that was the photobooth set up was tiny and we were going to have to go BIG. My mom wound up find some white sheets on sale while I was still in the brainstorming stages and she snagged me a couple. I didn't think it was gong to work out, but huzzah! it did! Within a few minutes I had a make shift studio set up in my basement with the help of a few soft boxes and my on camera flash! Not bad for a DIY! Nicole and I had a lot of fun with this session, so much so that I'm considering doing one for my birthday! Do you remember my friend Caitlin from my Fitness Lifestyle Session waaaaay back in June? Well I didn't scare her away because she came back for more photos! This time around she was the mastermind behind a nice gift for her sister. Caitlin asked me to do a family photo session for her sister's family, focusing on the main star of the show, her adorable little niece. We started off the shoot inside and got our little model to warm up the big scary contraption I held in front of my face. Later on we made our way outside to take a few photos by the river around the corner. It was surprisingly nice weather for the 1st of December which allowed us to spend just enough time outside to get some beautiful shots!
