Every once and awhile I get a burst of inspiration and creativity. Days like this one, for example, I stumbled across gorgeous portraits taken in the snow and I thought to myself "I gotta give this a go!" The only "problem" was a didn't have a model (or remote shooting). So I threw on a little makeup, changed my clothes, and tried me best to tame my wild head of hair and headed out to the backyard with a tripod. Since I didn't have any sort of remote shooting equipment at the time (after this shoot, I went right online and ordered some) I kept running back and forth to hit the timer. I was also uphill from the camera so I had to do a LOT of squatting! If any of my neighbors saw me, they would've have either been very confused or very entertained! I was a little uncomfortable at first as I am usually on the other side of the camera, but this experience helped step into the shoes of my clients and taught me how to give better posing directions. I had such a great time doing this shoot. The conditions were perfect, the inspiration was there and the motivation was strong! Can't pass up an opportunity like that!
